CHAPTER OBJECTIVE

To provide an environment conducive to ultimate dignity and respect for remembrance and honor of those who are represented in each panel that is lovingly created. We are committed to creating diversity and opportunity for members who share with others in grief, hope, and remembrance.

FOCUS ON YOUTH

Young people in their teens or early twenties are the fastest growing group in the United States to be infected with the HIV. The quilt offers a unique prevention. Seeing the Quilt creates a "teachable moment" when young people are receptive to information that can save their lives. More than eight out of ten students surveyed at high school displays say that seeing the Quilt makes them want to find out more about how to prevent HIV infection.

NAMES Project South Florida's educational program has been approved by Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County High Schools.
